On my way to @CernerUK Towers in London for the ED SIG and to demonstrate the @SWBHnhs @SWBH_ED pre-pack medications workflow we developed #healthcareit #unity #swbunity #epr #digitalhealth
@lovescoob @SWBHnhs That’s great news! Every day is a school day and there is so much to learn about #unity and how we can use it as a digital driver for excellence in care #SWBUnity #epr #digitalhealthcare @SWBHnhs @CernerUK
Listening to @jojomansell talk about how #Unity has got teams talking to each other made me realise; #SWBUnity was named for how it would unite patient records, but in reality it has united us all as an organisation @SWBHnhs @TobyLewis_SWBH @PaulaGardner64 #informaticsnurse #epr
Over on AMU A at Sandwell, Chief Nurse @PaulaGardner64 checks in on how care planning is initiated through #SWBUnity.
Sameera Bajwa, staff nurse on D43 is also a fan of the #SWBUnity changes.
“Ordering medication is much easier with Unity because everything’s in the system and you can contact the pharmacy directly. Making notes and doing admissions is much easier too.”

More thoughts from around the Trust on #SWBUnity. This time HCA Zoe King: “I’m one of the digital champions here and I’ve found Unity to be really good. It’s easy to access. Instead of going to the trolley to get the notes they’re all in one place. That makes it much quicker.”

“There are quite a lot of things to get used to but it seems to be working. The #SWBUnity team have been helpful and we all work together if we have any problems – manager, matron, everybody’s great. We’re getting there.” - Ivy Daley (centre), HCA on D47

“I found it quite daunting at first but I’ve surprised myself with how well I’ve taken to it. It’s good to have everything in one place rather than looking at paper notes and EPMS. There’s always been someone to support you too.” Amanda Howell, rehab support worker on #SWBUnity

Porter Resham Gill is another seeing the benefits of #SWBUnity – our new digital patient record system: “I think the service is running fine. We log in straightaway in the morning and as soon as a job comes in we accept it. It’s much simpler.”

Our security team doesn't use #SWBUnity, but play a role for staff safety during implementation .
"The teams have been working some very long hours to make this system a reality, plus it's getting dark earlier. We'll be there to support them and keep them safe." - Anton Todd

Staff nurse Beth Hill said of #SWBUnity: “We’re definitely noticing advantages. Ordering medication is so much easier - just a couple of clicks. It’s also good that if anyone makes any changes you can all see them.”

Next we're off to Henderson ward where we asked HCA Paige Polvere her thoughts on #SWBUnity:
“It’s a great system and we’re getting to grips with it. It’s quicker than working on paper and it notifies you all the time if you need to do something.”

For my @SWBHnhs colleagues, @BHWeConnect is @CernerUK #Millennium, what we call #SWBUnity #unity #epr #digitalnursing #digitalhealthcare #tooimportanttostaythesame tried, tested and proven to work

“It took time to get my head around #SWBUnity but so far so good. There’s still more for us to learn. When a patient comes here from the acute side we don’t have to do the whole admission again so it’s easier and saves us a lot of time.” - Saumia Sabu, ward sister at Leasowes.

This is our last weekend of #SWBUnity Go Live so thank you for your patience over the last 2 weeks as we worked to bring in a new digital patient record system. Sorry for any delays in accessing our services during the changeover. #SWBHstory More here: https://t.co/pDoenK0TPH…
“I’m getting used to the #SWBUnity system now and I’m finding it easier. I’m getting quicker each day." Lisa Slater, a HCA on McCarthy ward told us.
"The support’s been absolutely brilliant. If we’ve needed anything the Unity team have helped us straightaway.”

The portering team are also already seeing the benefits of #SWBUnity.
Joseph Bradley, portering team leader told us:“It’s a very efficient and smooth system. I think it’s less stressful for the team leaders because you’re not constantly on a bleep and a phone.”

We asked Danielle Thomas, occupational therapist at Leasowes how she's coping with the #SWBUnity system: “It’s been straightforward - and helpful because we can see patients’ notes before they’re transferred. Transferring information is a lot easier, notes are more legible.”
