#SWCODOT ALTERNATE ROUTE ADVISED! With US 550 Red Mt. Pass closed, SW CO motorists with plans to travel N/S on the mountain corridor between Ouray and Durango, should seek the more westerly route via CO 145 through Telluride.
#SWCODOT US 550 RED MT PASS UPDATE: Red Mt will remain CLOSED until further notice. An unprecedented amount of snow has been triggered from several avalanche paths, including an extensive amount of debris, limbs and trees. Some slide areas are a 1/2 mile long, 10-30 ft. deep.

US 491 S of Cortez was OPEN after midnight. Motorists are urged to drive with caution in the area, as the crashed semi remains on the side of the hwy. Tow operations to retrieve the crashed semi will likely happen during daylight hours. #Cortez #MontezumaCounty #SWCODOT #US491
