🧑🎓Today we are at CISAP9 conference, Milano explaining our #PBD method to analyse the response of #LPG tanks exposed to fires at the #WUI. Bravo Giordano for an excellent presentation! @eu_echo #safety #SafeMicroscale #keepWUIVIEWing 🧐🏡🔥
👍Resuming simulation jobs of our study cases after our summer break!🔥🏡
😷Productive meeting with @Carrosdefoc11 @elsa_pastor @pasky_v Alba Àgueda @david_gnomusy and @RISEsweden colleagues Emil and Johan

#WUI #SafeMicroScale #VR
Giordano Scarponi (UNIBO) gives an insight of the importance of considering LPG tanks in #WUI forest fires and how to simulate exposure to external fire using FDS @WUIVIEW #WuiviewWS1 @eu_echo #SafeMicroScale
Eulalia Planas form @CERTEC_UPC gives a brief insight about the new reality of forest fires affecting #WUI across the world, more particularly in Europe, and the role and objectives of @WUIVIEW project to cope with such scenarios #WuiviewWS1 #SafeMicroScale #WUI
Frederic Heymes (ARMINES) presents the experimental design for characterisation of thermal properties and combustion behaviour of non-natural objects and materials found in the WUI microscale considered both, as individual species and as fuel packs @wuiview #SafeMicroScale
Giordano Scarponi presents interesting results in the first set of CFD/FDS simulations of LGP tanks exposed to nearby vegetation in the #WUI microscale. @wuiview #SafeMicroScale No harmonisation of safety distances are found across EU countries!
Miguel Almeida from @ADAI_CEIF presents laboratory experients and results on green hedges. What we observed in real fires is confirmed by numbers: Cupressus arizonica is extremely dangerous! #WUI #SafeMicroScale @wuiview
#WUI #SafeMicroScale
🤝 Cross-project cooperation between @wuiview and @GEO_SAFE #EU wildfire research projects at the #GEOSAFE2019 week at @RMIT! 🔥🔥
🙏 Thanks @GEO_SAFE consortium for giving us the opportunity of sharing our methods and experiences!

In this example the model is accurately positioned, oriented and scaled as in real world, which is why some aliasing is observed in the linear elements, as the grid is aligned with local geographical coordinate axes (X is East, Y is North, Z is up) @WUIVIEW #SafeMicroScale
