I know most don’t care for samples cause they’re not releasing or what will release in the future, but for me it’s history and process that means so much. Love seeing them, and understanding their meaning as to why they were created. Being a color test, wear test, functionality, etc, the process behind the shoes are just as fascinating as the release and story.

There have been plenty of pairs that wore the name “For The Love Of The Game” but do you know where it came from. I didn’t. But they all draw their original inspiration from a Book by MJ himself promptly named.. well you guessed it.. FTLOTG. All the models also have other elements to go off of, but that’s where the name comes from. The book released in 1998. And yes we know about the clause in his contract.. 🧐

Air Jordan 1 Collette “Au Revoir”
The limited edition pair is done up in colette’s signature white and blue scheme, complete with its double dot logo and the years 1997 and 2017 to commemorate the period of service. The translucent outsole then bears “Au Revoir” tagging to round out the design details.

Air Jordan 1 High Display Samples.
These weren’t GRs.
These were moments.
Jordan Brand used to cook up special AJ1 High samples for very specific reasons — a college, an All-Star host city, a flagship grand opening, an anniversary. When they wanted to honor something or someone, they flexed. It was design as a love letter — straight from Beaverton to wherever the moment was happening.

This is the 4th sample I’ve seen for the banned 2011 release. One like this, but green with the red banned X on the back. Another just bred with different leather, Jumpman on the heel. And the other being silver. Another great find!

Jordan brands venture onto the collage fields started with @UMichFootball leaving @GoHeels to be the second. This is what peaked my interest into creating this series back in 2019. But not in this fashion. The athletics coordinators and equipment managers love to use these kicks to generate hype at the start of a season. Which is why we have seen the 3s and 4s from all of these teams respectively. The gift to each of the teams players and staff at the startup of a new season ( or title win.) The full on display 1-30 can be seen on campus at all of Jordan brands sponsored schools.

Originally I wanted to get close up shots of all these in full detail and hd. For me, I was genuinely excited to see new displays of Jordan’s in these school colors. Which is the reason for #TheDisplayCaseSeries . These pairs still won’t be on public display unless the equipment department of these schools decide to do any photo shoots with them. Unlike other displays, the schools have strict rules on why they are not a lot of public photos of these pairs.
