In 2023, #SAMVEG launched the Integrated Antenatal Care & Early Childhood Development Group Counselling (ACE) model at 10 VHSND sites in #Punhana block, Nuh, Haryana. The model aimed to enhances group counselling services to support home care for pregnant women and children under two, aiming to improve maternal and newborn outcomes and optimal development during the first 1000 days. ASHAs provide group counselling on antenatal care, nutrition, early childhood development, and birth preparedness using the VHSND platform.
SAMVEG, in collaboration with IIHMR, New Delhi conducted a qualitative study to determine perceived usefulness and satisfaction with respect to implementation of ACE Model in district Nuh, Haryana. The team has conducted in-depth interviews with frontline health workers (ANMs, ASHAs, and AWWs) and focus group discussions with beneficiaries, including pregnant women and young mothers.
The assessment aimed to gather detailed feedback on the model's practical implementation, likability, and overall satisfaction from both health workers and beneficiaries. The valuable insights and learnings obtained will be crucial for identifying any gaps in the current model and making necessary improvements. This iterative process of feedback and refinement will enhance the model's scalability, ensuring it can be effectively implemented and embraced by health workers and beneficiaries, ultimately leading to better health outcomes.
