Vice President Sara Duterte as the DepEd Secretary, a review #ExposeTheDutertes
Contrary to what you might think, when Vice President Sara Duterte was appointed as the DepEd Secretary I sincerely think that her political capital and close relationship with the President will do the education sector some good.
Obviously I was wrong. We can see the disinterest and incompetence from miles away! Since then… I have been calling for the resignation or removal of the Vice President as the DepEd Secretary.
In the state of our education system, having someone who is not interested to address the problems is a true injustice to the Filipino students. Imagine my disappointment when she’s more interested to talk about insurgency and her personal issues/ rifts, that she has time to attend anti-government rallies and wakes but not important events. Two words: Education Crisis
I welcome the fact that more and more people are calling for her resignation, believe me when I say that this more than the perceived Marcos-Duterte rift. This is asking for accountability! So let me offer you my personal review of Vice President Duterte as the DepEd Secretary:
1. Matatag Agenda
When the Department of Education presented the Matatag Curriculum at the Senate back in October last year, the Vice President didn’t even bother to show up but the hearing relieved a lot of things!
Despite not being from the education sector and several assessments of our curriculum identified “too many learning competencies”, our great DepEd secretary added peace education in the new curriculum because “It is close to her heart”. Seriously?!
You may find the video here but might ruin your day: https://t.co/HaM4R3YA5U
2. DepEd Confidential Funds
This is a true reflection of the priorities of the DepEd Secretary! Just when she finally accepted the fact that there’s no way she can get her requested confidential funds…
… suddenly, she remembers that the DepEd needs additional funding for the learning recovery. I mean, I am sure the legislators will gladly support that program with no problem at all! But of course her priority is the confidential funds. Labo
3. Concerning PISA score and EDCOM2 Reports
There is no time to waste when talking about the state of our education system, this is what experts consistently say.
If you read more about the education crisis here in the Philippines, our PISA score and if you listen to Senator Gatchalian and Congressman Roman explain the EDCOM2 reports in plenary. You will also wonder how can the DepEd Secretary waste her time politicking or just even think of something else but that..
The Vice President didn’t even bother attending the PISA forum, she sent a video… is she serious?!
4. Are her decisions “evidence-based” Lols!
It started with the removal of posters inside the classroom despite different studies saying different things, also despite the fact that not all classrooms are the same without the designs and posters placed to hide imperfections.
Then, there’s the Catch-Up Fridays… drop everything and read? Is that what the assessment says? Is that what the experts recommended? :/ I have been reading experts urging DepEd to stop this.

Like for part 2! Let’s talk about the ghost voucher recipients, transpac issue, teachers’ day celebration, summer alternative uniforms, delayed textbook delivery amongst other things.
Let me end this by quoting Congressman Joel Chua:
“She cannot have the best of both worlds by being a fence sitter while her family and their allies challenge the authority and mandate of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. while having little to show for in terms of substantive results at the Department of Education, where she is Secretary”
Shukran!
@SarahHuckabee Your orbits often intersect, and your circles of lawlessness and deceit are intertwined with MAGA. You make allegations easily proven to be false such as "witch hunt". Your house of cards will fall, and will do so in concurrence. #Sarahresign

Shame on you.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has not held a formal press briefing in 43 days, setting a new record. https://t.co/rbFeSeYMtv
Sarah Sanders has admitted making declarative statements to the press without any basis for them. We call that lying. The American people pay her salary. Trump must fire her. #SarahResign #FireSarah

As the liaison between the press & the White House, @PressSec Sanders has proven to be untrustworthy & dishonest. The American people deserve the truth and depend on the media to provide accurate information. Sanders’ credibility has reached the point of no return. #SandersResign
