➡️ DEXTER IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. His previous owner describes him as quite, aloof and independent. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
A volunteer writes: Dexter welcomes new toys the same way he hopes to one day be welcomed into a family. He immediately starts playing and rolls over to show us his belly. No pressure to show Dexter your belly if you don't want to, but please come in and meet this guy. Perhaps trying to make up for lost time and believing himself to be an outstanding multitasker, Dexter is really busy or at least he'd really like to be. The first few times I met Dexter, he waited at the front of his condo to greet, to talk, to play and sometimes it seemed like he was trying out a combination of all three. He was found last January in a box outside of a pet store and while shelter life can sometimes be a little much for him, and not always in the fun way, he's hoping for a second chance. Dexter is a unique cat who, with the right approach and understanding, can continue to make progress and show his more affectionate, playful side. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻
