Between 2015-2019, several hundred of you turned up every February to 'hug the hillfort'.
Here's a great video of one hug: https://t.co/M1FnzM5fw3
In 2017, we received over 1000 hearts (from Oswestry primary schools to residential homes). #SaveOurSetting #HillfortHeartbreak 💔
You'd hope there were heritage protections in place to stop this development. There are: NPPF16. But #ShropshireCouncil *isn't listening* to the experts on the issue of harm.
You can read NPPF16 here: https://t.co/UMj8FMrZ0I

We agree. Once #ShropshireCouncil planners allow modern housing beyond the natural screen of The Coppy, it sets a precedent for future development within the setting of the hillfort. It's very much the 'thin end of the wedge' for Old Oswestry. #HillfortHeartbreak💔#SaveOurSetting
A Valentine to #ShropshireCouncil
Roses are red, violets are blue
Our hillfort loves her setting
But why don’t you?

This is a very special & hugely important Iron Age site.
But they still want to build a large housing estate in Old #Oswestry hillfort's setting. Pls join the #campaign

Don’t forget to get your objection ready this weekend. Deadline is 15 February (Wednesday). Help Old Oswestry #SaveOurSetting
It's back. Despite being refused last March, the bid to build in near setting of Old Oswestry hillfort has reared its head again. Deadline to object is Feb 15. Looking very similar to the last one, see new planning application here: https://t.co/mInkBQLpXG
More artwork from the Artists Hugging the Hillfort (AHH!) exhibition in 2016, a local creative response inspired by the 2nd Hillfort Hug at Old Oswestry. This one is entitled 'Enfolding the Ancient' by Gill Crozier. #heritage #art #artist #landscape #SaveOurSetting #campaign

This is a beautiful, peaceful place, I can't imagine why anyone would think it is appropriate for this development. The fight goes on #SaveOurSetting

@preshitorian @OldOswestryFort Once this area is built on, the setting is lost forever. Please get those objections in to Shropshire’s planning department!
Thanks so much for the RT, Viv Gogglebox 🙏 We’re big fans of the show over at HOOOH HQ! Heritage is for everyone :) @viv1gogglebox #SOS #SaveOurSetting #HillfortsWednesday
