Dear @elonmusk, please help amplify our cries for Indonesia’s burning forests. 💔 Our forests are burning, and orangutans one of the world’s most threatened great apes are losing the only home they have ever known. In Tanjung Puting, a sanctuary for orangutans is facing the devastating threat of fire. In Way Kambas, the habitat of Sumatran elephants has also been affected by fires. Behind every wall of smoke, there may be a mother desperately trying to protect her baby. Behind every tree reduced to ashes, there may be a life with nowhere left to run. They cannot call for help. They cannot escape by car. They cannot tell the world that their home is disappearing. So we must be their voice. Indonesia’s forests are not just green patches on a map. They are living homes, breathing ecosystems, and the last refuge for species that may never recover if we lose them. Imagine being a baby orangutan, clinging to your mother as the forest around you burns. Imagine being an elephant, forced to flee the only habitat you have ever known. They did not cause this crisis, yet they are among those paying the price. Dear Elon, your platform can help these voices travel across borders. Please help bring international attention to the fires threatening Indonesia’s forests and wildlife. Help the world see what is happening before more of this irreplaceable natural heritage is lost. We do not want the world to remember our orangutans only through photographs after their forests are gone. Please help us make the world listen while there is still something left to save. A forest can take decades to recover. A species pushed to extinction may never return. Please, let the world hear our cry. 🌏🦧🐘 #SaveIndonesianForests #SaveOrangutans #SaveSumatranElephants #TanjungPuting #WayKambas

Our forests are burning, and orangutans one of the world’s most threatened great apes are losing the only home they have ever known.

Why should they be protected? Sumatran elephants feed on a variety of plants and deposit seeds wherever they go, contributing to a healthy forest ecosystem. #Gajahsumatera #savesumatranelephants

This beautiful photo of a #SumatranElephant reminds us how precious these beings are - and how much we stand to lose if they become extinct. He's being watered by one of the FZS staff in the Bukit Tigapuluh Ecosystem. #InternationalElephantProject #IEP #SaveSumatranElephants

When we #SaveElephants, we save many other species that rely on the #forest for life. These beautiful birds (honey bee eaters) were photographed in the forest by our Field Manager Hardi. #InternationalElephantProject #IEP #SaveSumatranElephants #SaveEndangeredSpecies
