What New Zealand should do to be removed from any nuclear target list and become a thriving escape destination for the world. Leave all alliances including 5 Eyes and declare neutrality. Become the Switzerland of the South Pacific. Ban any foreigner with any security clearance from any intelligence service from entering New Zealand. Ban companies like Rocket Lab and other military contractors providing services to foreign militaries from operating in New Zealand. Remove all members of the New Zealand military from all conflicts around the world. Don’t provide training or advise outside of New Zealand. Ban all foreign military assets from entering New Zealand. Allow foreigners to buy and build property in New Zealand above the value of NZD $10 million and provide residency for investments above $20+ million in businesses that guarantee self-sufficiency for New Zealand. Enough energy, medicine and food must be produced within New Zealand to be independent of imports. Provide a safe haven for assets, including crypto assets, and leave all treaties that do not benefit New Zealanders. Establish a direct democracy similar to the Swiss model and let New Zealanders decide major political decisions in accordance with the neutrality framework. Ban all lobbying and donations from oligarchs and corporations. All elections must be funded by the taxpayer and provide a level playing field to all political parties. That would be a good start.
