@datboiDaedae @joshhonesthouse @MmervIngarciaA If you guys are interested in exploring how God can be both loving and scary at the same time, I’d recommend by book #ScaryGod : Introducing the Fear of the Lord to the Postmodern Church
If your God isn’t scary, then your God isn’t real. The one true God—the God of the Bible—is absolutely terrifying. But, just because He’s SCARY doesn’t mean He’s CRUEL... If you want to find out more, I published an 80,000-word study on the topic in my book #ScaryGod
“Ultimately, true courage means choosing the path of righteousness no matter what feelings you may have to walk through along the way.” #ScaryGod @ForTodayMattie
“We are where we are on purpose, and to despise our ‘right now’ is to disqualify ourselves for our ‘what’s next.’” - @ForTodayMattie #ScaryGod 🙌🏼👏🏼
Thanks for reading, David! #ScaryGod
"We hide in the safety of our churches and work endlessly to develop a culture of comfort, scared that if we go outside we might somehow get infected by the dirt of the world God loves so much."
-@ForTodayMattie
"We (the church) are spending way to much time asking people what they want to hear from us, and way too little time asking God what He wants to say.' - @ForTodayMattie #ScaryGod
"God doesn't choose sides between us and our enemies. God Himself has a side, and we and our enemies get to choose whether we are going to join it or not." - @ForTodayMattie #ScaryGod
"If we are truly walking in the fear of the Lord, we will be moved to right living, not to sin." - @ForTodayMattie #ScaryGod
"If we cannot see Him for who He really is, we cannot know Him as He really is; and if we cannot really know Him, we will inevitably settle for less than the life he intended for us." - @ForTodayMattie #ScaryGod
"Most of the world doesn't believe that our God is alive and powerful because most of the church lives as though He isn't." - @ForTodayMattie #ScaryGod
Want to read the first chapter of my new book #ScaryGod
"It’s fairly easy to do what God says when you can understand what He’s doing and even see the fruit of your actions. It is a whole lot harder when you don’t understand, when what He is saying seems to move you away from the dream He’s given you."
