Congratulations to #VARD, Hurtigruten and the partners in the #SeaZero research project for winning the Best Concept Ship Design at the prestigious Electric & Hybrid Marine Awards in Amsterdam.
A ship design concept launched in the first revision one year ago, aiming to be the world's most energy efficient and environmentally friendly passenger cruise ship in operation.
The ship’s design concept features state-of-the-art solutions like contra-rotating propellers, air lubrication to reduce water resistance, retractable sails and large batteries. The goal is to build a ship that can sail without emissions during normal operation.
Another great achievement by our subsidiary VARD, paving the way towards a more sustainable future.
