"Many have been speculating on why the Septemberists have been recently inactive. Where is the same activity we had during the end of September? Our response is that the September Movement has not slowed down, has not quieted down, but on the contrary, we are more organized than the end of September, we have accomplished more since the end of September, and we want to remind everyone that most activities of any organization are always in the background, away from the public eye. For us to make sure we can deliver on our goals and promises to the community, we have to make sure we have the proper infrastructure, the proper social capital, and the proper direction to stand on, or else we will build a home on mud, and the floods will come, and nothing will be left, but if we build on a strong foundation, the floods will come, and we shall be left standing, and that is what we have been doing all this time. All we ask in return right now is for you to not lose hope in our movement and to trust our judgement and timeline.
For example, recently Septemberist-associated leaders have conducted a three-day camp teaching and training groups on civil disobedience and other principles in leading protests, so that next time there is public instability, we won’t rely on spontaneous uprisings, but rather coordinated activities. These seminars and others will continue, and you can see, it is necessary to keep a lower profile. Today is the day however we announce just a small portion of the fruits that have come to ripen.
What is the Septemberist Movement?
The Septemberist Movement, which was spawned after the capitulation of Artsakh and the failure of the National Committee to replace the traitor Nikol Pashinyan, is a coalition of both local and diaspora leaders to inaugurate a movement, both practical and theoretical in its goals, centered on consolidating and coordinating the Armenian public behind the New Front.
What is the New Front?
The New Front, as we have coined it, consists formally of the most determined and radical bloc of the Armenian Opposition, led by General Vazgen Manukyan, which is now breaking away from its old straitjacket and creating a movement of its own, both in opposition to the treacherous leadership of Civil Contract, but also of the ineffective leaders which had tragically dubbed themselves the Opposition. We are not against the proud members of the ARF and other opposition parties, but call on them to see the hypocrisy of their leadership and come under the fold of Manukyan’s New Front, which is also supported by the most visionary and forward-thinking bloc of the Armenian clergy and military.
Why are we called the Septemberists?
We are called the Septemberists because we have a vision to end the annual hostilities we face during autumn. In September 2020, we saw the largest hostilities in Artsakh since the start of the war, ending with the occupation of Shushi; in September 2022, Azerbaijan attacked us once more, and is now several kms from Jermuk; recently in September 2023 we saw the wholesale invasion of Artsakh which birthed this movement. We seek for a September where there will be no more drones, no more artillery, we seek for a September where our opponents are defeated, our heroes triumph, and a new Armenia can flourish. In this way, we are named the Septemberists not because we are simply restricted in the month of September, but that September represents both our tragedy, but also our rebirth, which is greatly paralleled in the creation of the Third Armenian Republic on September 21, 1991, and perhaps soon, the Fourth Republic will follow.
