Charles Church post-blitz and again today 2023, a lot has changed here and although many of us in the present criticise the new look City I think those who went through those years would approve of the rebuilding to some degree. RESURGAM #shadowsofourpast #plymouthfromabove

This D-Day image was taken at Torpoint slip at just the right angle to not only capture these brave young men as they were embarking off to those infamous beach fronts but also to capture the former Ferry terminus building #Shadowsofourpast #DDay #WW2 #Plymouth #Torpoint

Today’s little treat, a view from the Devonport Column circa 1880 blended with today’s same view, a modern city but still with so much of the old view hidden among the bustling city. #Plymouth2021 #Shadowsofourpast

WW2 blitz damage to Plymouth’s historic Barbican, today there’s the new not so fitting architecture of the visitor centre built in its place. Plymouth paid a heavy toll during & after the war years as it tried to rebuild and become a modern City from the ruins. #Shadowsofourpast
