A day off in Mid Wales, baking and a picnic in the #ElanValley
Had a chat with an angler on Claerwen he'd had a fish and bumped another. Gave him a couple of flies to use tomorrow. 😉

Probably one of my favourite flies for pulling through a wave for wild brown trout. It's my take on an "Ajax Special". I'll be tying it at the Irish Fly Fair next weekend.

It's good to know that some things don't change. A lovely few hours after work on Llyn Egnant and Llyn Hir to end the season.

Just this.....a couple of hours after work to wet the net. It was good to get back to what I enjoy most. Feisty wild brown trout it doesn't get any better.

A few more to the net today. Despite the Cochybonddu beetle being on the water the fish preferred small wets pulled just under. Got the opportunity to return the favour met the same angler again today and handed him couple of my flies.

You know that feeling when your head says it's not a great day for fishing but you go anyway.
Happy to say the fish were looking up. 👌

Picnic for one, a long walk and plenty of fish to the net despite the wall to wall blue sky. A perfect day.

The rain was biblical at times today but it didn't seem to bother the fish.

It's been a while since I wrapped some fur and feather on a hook. That tingle of excitement has been building so here are a few that might tempt a wild brown trout next season. Happy New Year to all my fishing friends.

Time to press the reset button today with a day chasing wild brown trout on #TeifiPools The wind was beastly but a few good fish came to the net. After International fishing it was good to be back in my comfort zone.

It was a close match, tip of the hat to England who took the honours in the Ladies Fly Fishing International. It was great to catch up with so many old friends. Lets hope we can do it all again next year on Lough Conn.

Got asked to fish for one of the teams in the Clywedog league today. Happy to say the fishing gods were kind and a few fish came to the net. Tip of the hat to my boat parter Andrew for putting me over the fish.

Sometimes there are days when you get blown away by people’s kindness. This box of flies arrived in the post today. I do like a well tied Diawl Bach tip of the hat to Ian Taylor. They’ll get a swim soon.
