To establish sustainable social change, education is key. All girls and boys must be educated about menstruation and reproductive health to empower them to talk comfortably and candidly about periods and sexual health. #SheNeedsAPadProject @GPANigeria #MenstruationMatters @UNFPA

Menstruation is a normal and regular event in every healthy adolescent girl's life. Yet drastic changes are needed to encourage positive social norms and ultimately enact behavioral change. For most girls, management of menstrual pain is a key concern. #SheNeedsAPadProject

It is important to educate girls and their caretakers about the usual progression of puberty and development of the menstrual cycle. Clinicians should convey that females will likely begin to menstruate approximately 2โ3 years after breast development begins. #SheNeedsAPadProject

Dignified Menstruation will help reach lasting equality. The #SheNeedsAPadProject is an exciting solution to problems that affect women and girls worldwide and contribute to the gender gap. Together, we can achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all.

The #SheNeedsAPadProject helps save lives and protect the household investment in infrastructure through its design to strengthen climate resilience. Sanitation-related loss of productivity, such as missed work, missed school, cost some countries over 6% of their GDP annually.

With the #SheNeedsAPadProject, a zero-waste lifestyle is possible. It means reducing our consumption and production of one-time industrial disposable sanitary products. The #SheNeedsAPadProject gives important water, sanitation, and hygiene issues a mechanism for the response.

With the extent of the sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health crisis, we need to act now, catalyze change, and accelerate collective and sustained commitment. #SheNeedsAPadProject aims to advance the international response to sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health crisis.

130 million girls worldwide are out of school. While there are several contributing factors to school attendance, the prevalence of poor sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health plays a major role. It's time for action!
The #SheNeedsAPadProject is supported by the @GPANigeria.

Lack of safe, gender-segregated sanitation and hygiene facilities at school put children's health and dignity at risk and significantly reduces the learning environment quality. It also means that some children, especially adolescent girls, will miss school. #SheNeedsAPadProject

Advocacy for the She Needs A Pad Project done by the Lagos branch was a huge success. We all deserve better even in our menstrual health!

@OVIWCE

Every day, hundreds of MILLIONS women and girls menstruate, many without the facilities to safely manage their menstrual health. 1 IN 3 schools lacks access to basic sanitation services. 1 IN 5 health care facilities lack access to basic sanitation services. #SheNeedsAPadProject

Breaking the silence around menstruation is essential to a future where there is โperiod equityโ โ where every woman in every location, situation, pandemic or not, at all times, has the ability to hygienically and sustainably manage her periods. #SheNeedsAPadProject @GPANigeria

The silence around alternative and sustainable menstrual products continues largely because of social taboos surrounding menstruation, making open discussions on the natural biological process difficult for everyone involved in an informed or hygienic way. #SheNeedsAPadProject
