Did the @AWMemorial lose part of the #ShellalMosaic? Illustrations taken before its removal show the hind quarters of a dog in the 5th position of the mosiac's 4th row, but this roundel is missing from the surviving mosaic.

Numerous photographs at @AWMemorial show Shellal on Wadi Ghuzze and help us understand the geography of the site where the #ShellalMosaic was removed. This snip from a 1:20,000 survey map of Shellal made by the Royal Engineers in 1917 shows the area w/ "Mosaic Hill" in red.
