A rather nice postcard of band of the #Shiny7th (3/7 (City of London) Btn of London Rgt). Printed in #Dartmouth, which is where the Shiny 7th transferred in 1917 - so many of these men probably trained at #SuttonMandeville also. Their CO - Lieut-Col Stewart-Bam - sits at centre.

It hardly gets more poignant than this. A single poppy growing on the chalk of the #Shiny7th badge. Had just been recounting how Eric Marchant, who wrote to his dad in March 1916 about cutting the badge, had been killed leading his platoon at Cambrai, 20 Nov 1917.
