Cherkasy Prosecutor’s Office Dismisses '#Carthage' Suspect's Sister and Deputy Chief Following #NABU Leaks On September 8, the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office dismissed Viktoria #Didych and Maksym #Shtompel, both linked to recordings released by #NABU and #SAP under Operation #Carthage. Didych headed the first procedural supervision department and is the sister of Serhiy #Kropyva, whom investigators designate as "#Chancellor." Shtompel served as Deputy Chief of the regional prosecutor's office since April 2026. Neither faced formal suspicion at dismissal, reporting local media 18000. Kropyva is a primary suspect, accused of organizing a scheme to protect fraudulent call centers and launder 89.9M UAH. Of that sum, 48.2M UAH dates to his tenure as Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, and 41.7M UAH to his time at the Prosecutor General's Office. Over 20M UAH went into real estate and luxury goods, while ~12M UAH was registered to nominees. Arrested on September 4, Kropyva was detained by the High Anti-Corruption Court (#HACC) through November 2 with bail set at 120M UAH. Prosecutors alleged a 505-location network generated up to $3.5M monthly, while defense noted Kropyva’s official income from 1998–2025 was just over 8M UAH. The case also involves Didych's husband, attorney Oleksandr #Didych, named as Kropyva's confidant. On September 8, #HACC ordered his pre-trial detention through November 2 with a 15M UAH bail alternative. Shtompel’s dismissal followed intercepted calls between voices attributed to Didych and Shtompel discussing his career advancement prior to his April 2026 promotion. Operation Carthage extends beyond Cherkasy, involving aliases like "#Chancellor," "#Muse," "#Comrade," and "#Flash," with searches reaching the Prosecutor General's Office. Allegations of systematic protection fees remain pending judicial ruling. The case impacts one family line: Serhiy Kropyva is detained on 120M UAH bail, his brother-in-law Oleksandr Didych on 15M UAH bail, and his sister Viktoria Didych lost her post alongside Shtompel. Final verdicts remain pending. Unbelievable, but true… https://t.co/hWfzsGBKg7
