In response to the escalating #protests against the deployment of #CentralArmedPoliceForces personnel for the pre-feasibility survey of the proposed 12,500 MW #SiangUpperMultipurposeProject, in #SiangValley, the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society has stated that the state should take steps to bring peace to society, rather than unrest. The forceful imposition of laws upon citizens without consultation and their consent is counterproductive and should be avoided, said President Kani Nada Maling in a statement.
