My last client of the day walked in and took a seat at my station. As I put the cape over his #suit I asked if he wanted to stick with the businessman's #sidepart. "Actually the reason I'm here is I recently got married and I promised my wife we'd move to her hometown in Kentucky. I'd like to find a style that will help me fit in with the locals and I heard you were the guy to see for a change like this." He proceeded to show me a few reference pictures of his wife's brothers and how they dressed and styled their hair(a mix of flattops and mullets), hoping to blend right in with his new family upon his arrival. "You came to the right place bud, let's get you fixed up" I said as I reached for the grooming tonic and applied it to his hair. He watched intently as I then blowdried his hair until it stood up on end. "What's that?" he asked as I reached for my next tool. "This is a #flattop comb, it helps keep a flat line on top as I trim down the hair" I said as I pushed it through his hair and buzzed off anything sticking out the top. I then showed him how to apply the wax to keep his new style sticking straight up. Once his hair was stuck in place I invited him to the back room to try on an outfit that better suited his new lifestyle. He got dressed and looked in the mirror, stunned at who he saw looking back at himself. "I'm unrecognizable, you really worked some magic on me." I chuckled, "well you might want to warn your wife before you get home that you look a bit different. Good luck with your new life in Kentucky." He shook my hand and thanked me, but just as he pushed open the door I called out, "and get rid of that little sports car you got out there, men who look like you drive pickup trucks." He nodded and smiled, "Yessir."
