Pleased to have confirmation last night at #Braintree DC Budget meeting that our local requests for solar panels on #SilverEnd village hall are included; ยฃ61k.
Makes sense that when roof is replaced (scheduled work) solar panels are added on the largest village hall in England.

Thank you to local residents who attended last night at our Planning Update meeting at #SilverEnd village hall. Hopefully we covered all the main issues - though it is complicated with so many developer bids to build in the area - incinerator, quarries, pylons, A120 & A12.

Another local hedgerow facing destruction in #SilverEnd #Essex .
A site refused planning by #Braintree DC was subsequently granted on Appeal by Govn. Inspector.
The entire front hedge (RHS of photo) is to be removed. A hole has already been cut with remains of trees piled up.
It was wonderful today planting a new hedge in #SilverEnd - 4 of us doing the planting and several dozen of the local pre-school children came over with their carers to watch - and will be helping with the watering tomorrow and next week !

Pleased to hear tonight at meeting of #Braintree District Council @BraintreeDC that public consultation on #SilverEnd Conservation Area Guide is "imminent". This is long overdue, something we have been asking for yrs, hopefully now moving forwards.
Current CA Guide is 26 yrs old
This shockingly bad highway defect is in Boars Tye Road #SilverEnd - main road through village.
A cyclist hitting that could be seriously injured and it is obviously a risk to car drivers who could burst a tyre.
How on Earth has Essex County Council it to get this bad ?

Attempts to re-provide the bat habitat along this magnificent native hedgerow in #SilverEnd #Essex have failed.
The hedge was destroyed by developers.
The bats have gone.

The Councilโs own studies from the NDR show bats don't use the mitigation methods they are proposing, like bridges, boxes and tunnels.
