Three Bahá’ís Remain in Judicial Limbo in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz After 48 Days
It was learned on 9 August 2026 that Mrs. Sima Sebto, Mrs. Nahid Falahati, and Mr. Saied Hasani, three Bahá’ís from Shiraz, remain in an uncertain situation in Adelabad Prison 48 days after their arrest. They have been deprived of telephone contact and visits with their families, while Mr. Hasani is being held in solitary confinement.
No explanation has been provided to their families regarding the restrictions on contact and visitation, and the families remain unaware of the reasons for these measures.
Mrs. Sebto, who is married and the mother of two daughters aged 19 and 24, was arrested by security forces at her home in Shiraz on 23 June 2025. Since her arrest, she has been interrogated on several occasions and charged with “propaganda against the regime”.
Mrs. Falahati was also arrested in Shiraz on 23 June 2025 by forces of the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and transferred to Adelabad Prison. Mr. Hasani was arrested the same day in Shiraz by agents of the same organisation.
During his arrest, agents searched his home and confiscated a number of personal belongings before transferring him to Adelabad Prison, where he was subsequently placed in solitary confinement.

It was learned on 26 July 2026 that Mrs. Sima Sebto, a 54-year-old Baha’i resident of Shiraz, remained in detention more than one month after her arrest and had been placed under new restrictions, including a ban on family visits and telephone contact.
By order of judicial authorities, Mrs. Sebto has been barred from communicating with her family for more than a week. During this period, her relatives have had no direct contact with her and have been unable to obtain information about her condition.
The uncertainty surrounding her case, combined with the suspension of family contact, has heightened concerns about her physical and psychological well-being.
