'SEA KHARIF CROP SURVEY 2025’ UNEARTHS THE REAL PICTURE OF GROUNDNUT CROP ON ITS FINAL DAY! Those following the #SolventExtractorsAssociationofIndia (#SEA) would know that the #SEA team, along with over 20 members under leadership of Shri Vinod Patel SK Industry, Shri Rajesh Patel, GGN RESEARCH, Dr B V Mehta ED THE SOLVENT EXTRACTORS’ ASSOCIATION OF INDIA has been on the ground in Saurashtra for the past three days, assessing crop size and quality in Gujarat’s leading #groundnut-producing districts. True to its longstanding commitment, the #SEAGroundnutPromotionCouncil — carrying out this vital exercise for over two decades — has once again travelled across hashtag#Gujarat to evaluate the crop size, quality, seed varieties used, and other critical factors. After extensive field visits and discussions with millers, traders, brokers, and farmers, here’s what the on-ground survey has revealed: Last year, the initial estimate for Gujarat’s hashtag#groundnut production was pegged at 42.2 lakh metric tonnes (MT). However, after revising availability data and processing figures, the number was updated to 46 lakh MT—reflecting a 10% increase over the preliminary estimate. Thus, the final production figure for 2024–25 stands at 46 lakh MT. For the current year (2025–26), while the area under hashtag#groundnut cultivation has expanded by approximately 3 lakh hectares, overall hashtag#productivity has declined—from 2,210 kg/ha last year to 2,092 kg/ha. This drop is largely attributed to a dry spell from mid-July to mid-August, followed by excessive rainfall that adversely impacted yields. As a result, despite the increased acreage, the estimated groundnut crop for 2025–26 remains around 46 lakh MT, similar to the previous season. The gain in area has been offset by reduced productivity, keeping overall output at last year’s level.
