of light and tender pastels.
Sunrise kindles skyline,
the horizon ambered
in oriflamme.
Forlorn,
stands a desolate abbey—
a requiem,

O’er its cold cobbles,

dusk turns empty—

The sleeping hillside
awakens in scarlet
as ripples of red
curl like rubies in swaying flame.
Lilting poppies
in a crimson roundelay—
June’s lyrical confessions.
Ancient as silent chorales,
the wind a wandering
troubadour.
A fugue of peach
across the east.
In the verdant wild
of budding dawn,
gilded celandines—
untamed,
tiny suns shimmering
thro’ the emerald
as they scatter citrines
on the woodland floor.
Beneath the sky's
sprawling lavender,
spring's revelations—
jeweled ballads unravelling.
Wistful April,
pastoral morn,
its luminous psalms.
O’er reeds and river stones
of crystal dawnlight,
darting chirps—
a winged ballerina
in silver monochrome.
Tail a-wagging,
rippling rhythm,
fractured symphony,
a wagtail's peppy pirouettes—
dawn, a swirl of misty rhapsodies.

The weathered canopy
in autumn's rust,
a pensive aspen,
ambered, stands bare—
its last leaf lingers
in copper, earth-ochre.
The woodland
sings its waning song.
Windswept rustles,
susurrus of a faint refrain—
woes of withered boughs
tracing silence
across the embered sky.

of distant dusk,
born of ember,
wispy skeins of oak smoke
unfurl in woody cadence.
Velvet wraith,
soft swirls of lucent silver
waft in sinuous curls
across the frosty silence.
Languid in legato drifts,
they blur into
waning winter blooms—
a quiet oblivion.
By the mossed trails
of wandering clover,
dew-lit in peridot,
a honeyed idyll—
sun's scattered gold
jewelling sylphic daffodils.
Like harp's
drifting refrains,
sibilant sways of saffron,
ballads of lyrical hues
draping April—
morning lingers
in flecks of floral euphoria.

A tiny warbler,
her bursts of chirring trills
like fragments
of xanthic sparkles.
She braids melodies
of unfolding dawn.
Her song,
her silence,
spells of a silver soprano—
fairy tweets
wafting on a rippling breeze.
Woodland's hamadryad,
timeless minstrel
of numinous spring.
Waking sky
of fleecy silver,
shimmering thrums,
April's misty drizzles.
Wet, blushing silk—
a chorus of lacy crocus
unfurling like amethyst.
A vale in lilac,
jewelled violet,
veiled in honeyed lavender.
Strumming soft,
chords of periwinkle hues—
spring's lilting mirabilia.
'Cross the velvet vast
of the rustling slade,
mured in red,
ablush,
origamis
of ruby aureoles—
in arabesque rhymes,
wispy poppies sway.
Scarlet flares in silk abloom,
like hums of wind chimes—
refrains of a soft caress.
This is how spring
wraps us in a spell of carnelian.
