Data below shows that it IS really the only option for steady, stable baseload - particularly as current ScotGov are ideologically opposed to new nuclear.

If gas then it should come from Britain. We get c. 50% of our gas supply from the North Sea. Labour will leave us reliant on foreign imports.
(If CCUS or hydrogen then the first still needs gas, and both are more expensive).
