This afternoon in #StGerardsOutdoorLearning with class 3, we created a rustic poppy to celebrate #RemeberanceDay and hung them from the tree. We then played in the forest as part of #OutdoorClassroomDay and loved building Conker runs, mud pies and tyre stacks. ๐
Today, Class2 designed their own pizza boxes and harvested some vegetables from our poly tunnel. Over the past few weeks in #StGerardsDT, the children have taste tested and decided on their favourite toppings to create their masterpiece pizzas tomorrow.#StGerardsOutdoorLearning
Y2 are thoroughly enjoying our #StGerardsDT topic; โPerfect Pizzas!โ We explored a range of different toppings, identifying the food groups they fit into, tasting and describing them! We tried some of the delicious fresh basil we have grown during #StGerardsOutdoorLearning๐๐ซ๐ง
At the beginning of May in our #StGerardsScience and #StGerardsOutdoorLearning session, Class 2 planted spring onion bulbs hoping they would grow. We have been watering them and looking after them for the past month and today we got to harvest and taste them.
Our final #StGerardsOutdoorLearning session is always fire. Class 2 were so sensible around the fire circle and got to cook their chocolate bananas over the heat and eat them. We also celebrated #NationalBeeDay sharing facts and creating our own mini bee mobile ๐ ๐ ๐ซ ๐ฅ
Class 2โs #StGerardsOutdoorLearning #StGerardsScience lesson was all about germination ๐ฑ. Over the past couple of weeks we have nurtured and watched our cress heads grow and today we got to taste them in our egg or cheese cress sandwiches. They were delicious ! ๐
With a very busy week it was impossible to fit in a whole school #StGerardsOutdoorLearning day to celebrate #OutdoorLearningDay, so instead we took the whole school family on the field to enjoy story time together at the end of the day. ๐ณ ๐
What a glorious, muddy but sunny day reception had in their #StGerardsOutdoorLearning session! We created the CUTEST Dande-Lions, used our #NationalOutdoorLearningDay bug sheet to create a mini meadow, enjoyed building dens, making mud pies and living our best bug life outside.
This weekโs #StGerardsOutdoorLearning and #StGerardsScience lesson was all about plants that are grown from a bulb. We discussed different plants and then had a go at planting daffodils and onions. Then, the children sketched a daffodil bulb and what it will look like grown.๐ผ ๐ง
Y2 had a super time during #StGerardsOutdoorLearning yesterday! We began our #StGerardsScience โPlantsโ topic, planting cress seeds in the hopes of growing cress hair. We celebrated #EarthDay, making wood slice climate impact pledges. It was a brilliant afternoon, full of fun!๐
Y2 are absolutely FASCINATED by the metamorphosis of their caterpillars. We are hoping to see some beautiful butterflies very soon!๐๐ฆ #StGerardsOutdoorLearning #StGerardsScience

A wonderful #StGerardsOutdoorLearning session for Y4! We started with a Roman battle of turn the cards and went on a Forest Quiz Hunt. After looking at images in their Roman topic, we created an amphitheater and Colonnade with natural items in @LtL_News Loose Parts Challenge.
Class 6 have taken part in a #wildchallenge @Natures_Voice fundraising event to help build our own fruit and vegetable patch. Weโve had lots of great fundraising ideas, posters and PowerPoint presentations for a whole school assembly. ๐ ๐ฅ #StGerardsOutdoorLearning
We had โsnowโ much fun in our #StGerardsOutdoorLearning today! We started our bird topic by creating bird feeders, we created ice candles and are hoping they freeze overnight, we had hot chocolate and played in the snow- Mr Landrum even threw snowballs at us! ๐ฆ๐ฏ๏ธ โ๏ธโ๏ธ
