State autonomy was pioneered by C.N. (Aringar Anna) #CNAnnadurai of the request and through the #Dravidian_movement. As the leader of #DMK, he emphasized the rights of the states. In the 1940s, #Annadurai discussed "state autonomy" in his articles and speeches. When the DMK came to power in 1967, the state was advanced. As an autonomous principle
Later the artist, #Kalaingar_Karunanidhi further strengthened this demand
In 1971, DMK's election manifesto featured state autonomy prominently. And in 1974, the state autonomy resolution was passed in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly based on the #Rajamannar_Committee report.

Significance of State Autonomy Resolution:
The DMK government's state autonomy resolution in the Tamil Nadu Assembly is seen as important for asserting rights. The significance of this is that states in the party system of India are as follows
Defense of Federalism:
The Constitution of India ensures the devolution of powers between the states and the central government. But the central government's increasing centralization efforts (GST, one country-one election, decisions on education and law and order) are seen as reducing the autonomy of the states. The resolution emphasizes the protection of states' rights.
Political Legacy of Tamil Nadu:
Tamil Nadu has long insisted on state autonomy. In 1974, the Karunanidhi-led DMK government passed the State Autonomy Resolution based on the recommendations of the Rajamannar Committee. This watershed regenerates that death and reasserts state rights in a virtuous context
Governor-State Government Clash:
Recently there have been conflicts between the Sodhas and the state government in Tamil Nadu. Itrayanam Governorship Phramanam seeks to strengthen the jurisdiction of the Governor and the sovereignty of the State. Review and do. half

Education and law and order This may lead to transfer of education, law and order etc. to the state list. Thus, states can formulate policies according to the needs of their people.
A Review of the Role of the Governor:
This decision will be a pressure to curb abuses of power by the governor. A recent Supreme Court judgment (April 2025) confirmed that Governors cannot act arbitrarily. This decision will further strengthen this.
Development and Welfare Schemes:
By giving more power to the states, states like Tamil Nadu can quickly implement programs according to their economic and social needs.
Difference in Unity:
State autonomy would preserve India's diversity, not diversify its unity. It will create a federal system that respects language, culture, and cultural identity...
Inner line permit for the states of Indian union is a must.
