Nationally, the participation rate of young women in computer science is 32%... except in 3 states where it’s above 40%: MD, MS, and SC. What do they have in common? They’ve made CS a graduation requirement or it’s the main way to fulfill an existing requirement! #StateofCS2022

English language learners, students with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged students are also underrepresented in foundational computer science compared to their overall population. #StateofCS2022
Other reveals from the report? Black, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American students are still less likely to attend a school that offers computer science. #StateofCS2022
