@ITforChange @INBreakthrough Tilted, skewed gender status quo offline which is a structural phenomenon is mirrored online mimicking the skewed power plays. A gender sensitive society has to be built and there is no better way forward than striving towards this.#stopdigitalhate

@ITforChange These companies should definitely conduct human rights audits for their platforms to understand the changing dynamics of rights violations and constantly update their systems to address such issues. #StopDigitalHate
@ITforChange We need more human intervention to address violence on those platforms. AI often misses out on the cultural or language nuances. For eg. Words are often intentionally misspelt like "Bob" or "Vagine" to dodge the reporting system. #StopDigitalHate
@ITforChange Most of the time these platforms lack socio-political context and subjectivity of nudity, violence, hate speech and judge them on a parameter which is far from the community values. #StopDigitalHate

@ITforChange The government should give digital devices, dongles etc and include scholarship packages especially for young and adolescent girls and boys. #StopDigitalHate
@ITforChange Giving access does not only mean removing the obstacles that come in the way but also provides the devices/platforms necessary for accessing the digital portals. #StopDigitalHate
@ITforChange Different genders are treated differently, with trans people and marginalised people facing the brunt. For example, 84% of all people with disabilities in India do not have access to any devices. #StopDigitalHate
@ITforChange Along with literacy the government needs to invest in ensuring access and control because the problem of access has its roots in discriminations: whether mobile or online. #StopDigitalHate
@ITforChange Wealth and education have a direct linkage with access to digital technology, which means that if you are rich and educated, it is more likely that you have better access and ownership of digital sources of technology. #StopDigitalHate
