These posts used screenshots from the LinkedIn profile of Talentus Sports Speakers, a company that publishes job offers from numerous sports organizations and clubs, to attempt to professionally link referee José Luis Munuera Montero with our club, insinuating a conflict of interest. The majority of these media outlets have continued to spread this false information, even after our Communication Department clarified the situation.
Following established protocols, the club’s Compliance Department conducted a thorough investigation, interviewing and requesting information from the Administration, Procurement, and Human Resources departments. The report confirms that the club has never had, nor currently has, any commercial or contractual relationship with Talentus Sports Speakers, and that the published claims are entirely false.
Additionally, the Compliance Department of the Royal Spanish Football Federation has also confirmed that there is no conflict of interest between José Luis Munuera Montero’s company activities and his role as a referee.
At Atlético de Madrid, we believe that these harassment campaigns severely damage the image of our football and must not go unpunished.
