Met Eireann have confirmed that the highest mean wind recorded at Mace Head during #Stormeowyn was 88.9mph and the max gust was 113mph at the 04-05Z Observation.
They have also confirmed that there was no damage to the station and that the only issue in getting data out was the break in the communication/electricity supply.
They have confirmed that all data was recorded and that all data has been successfully retrieved and obtained from the weather station.
The Mean wind of 88.9mph or 143km/h would be a new record high mean wind for Ireland and is still going through data validation.
However the fact the station has suffered no damage in such an exposed location is absolutely amazing and testament to the stations design / implementation and maintenance.
