Picked up a Strawflower planter while I was out today. (Couldn’t resist) 🫢 It’s amazing how a flower can feel dried out & crispy like this, hence the name, but be thriving. It’s going outside just as soon as it stops thundering. ⛈️👍😃 #Strawflower 🌼

🟥 🪴 Xerochrysum bracteatum Commonly known as golden everlasting or strawflower, it is a short-lived perennial native to Australia that is frequently cultivated as an annual. ❤️ 🔁 #XerochrysumBracteatum #Strawflower 🎞 @GurenTimelapse - @erwinquu ▶️ It forms an erect, branching plant 20–100 cm tall (most garden cultivars 30–60 cm) with a woody base in mature specimens. The stems are single or multiple, ribbed or narrowly winged, and covered in fine hairs that give the plant a greyish appearance. Leaves are alternate, linear to lanceolate, 2–10 cm long and 3–15 mm wide, green to grey-green, densely hairy especially when young, with entire and often undulate margins. The terminal flower heads are solitary or arranged in loose corymbs and measure 2–6 cm across.
