I have been meaning to say this, and there is no sugarcoating it. I analyzed where Kei went wrong in his plans. At first, his plan to destroy or bomb the JAA headquarters, kill Asaki, and eliminate the Order was coming to fruition as he moved closer to his goal. However, after Kei switched to Rion Uzuki, everything changed. She wanted Sakamoto to kill her so that her manifestation inside Kei would disappear and Kei himself would also die, so they could die together. She became furious when Sakamoto hesitated to kill her. Even though she lived inside Kei as a persona, he treated her as a friend and told her to remain as Rion while leaving Kei behind in his body, or in other words, placing Kei into a deep subconscious sleep. This made Rion Uzuki extremely angry, to the point that she grabbed Sakamoto by his collar. She implied that this was impossible because they were bound together. What Sakamoto suggested meant that she would abandon Kei and Rion would live on selfishly, which completely disgusted and angered her and does not defy her character and the mutual canonical relationship of (real) Rion had with Kei from a decade ago. That was why she became so enraged that she even wanted to kill Sakamoto. Rion Uzuki stated that she could not change what had already happened. Their friendship was already over because she was dead a long time ago. Death was final, and because of that, she needed to be killed so she would no longer exist in the physical world. At the same time, Kei also needed to die so he could reunite with the real Rion in the afterlife, who had been waiting for him for a decade. Like the real Rion, the persona wanted Sakamoto not to hesitate and to kill her as couldn't bring it to herself because of the imposed command on her by Kei to protect his life with all her might even as a copy so that both her existence and Kei’s suffering would end. Only then could Kei be healed after death and finally be reunited with her (real Rion). Switching into Rion (persona) had a time limit because she existed only to protect Kei’s life and repair his wounds, just like the real Rion. I believe that when Kei rose from the grave after his first death, the Rion persona saved him and already manifested inside of him from his depression, sorrow, and grief of losing real Rion from his life. From that point on, every time Kei was stabbed to his heart/chest, threatened, or killed, Rion Uzuki will appear in surface to repair, protect, and heal him, making him almost immortal. In other words, Kei has no capacity to die because Rion (persona) is living inside of him which is his only string of life he is holding on to and still alive despite of the pain and suffering living in the physical world while his soul is being dead inside. Kei learned to heal himself because no one else was there to save him and nobody reached out to him when he cried in pain and needs help after (real) Rion was gone. This Rion Uzuki persona became a part of him and helped him recover as he stands again from his own two feet alone, allowing him to walk and free his friends from the orphanage and kill JAA and AL Kamar civilians in the process and burn the shady facility to ashes until nothing remains. And from there, Kei stood and became a leader of X Organization composed of different individuals with exceptional lethal skills that could wipe out the entire society if must when judgement comes. At the same time, his agents disguised as JAA's were also questioning the direction of Slur’s plan, wondering what was happening. They were waiting for Haruma’s signal so they could proceed. However, Takamura interfered and killed them all in the bathroom. That was the moment everything went wrong. If Sakamoto had listened to Rion Uzuki’s plea and killed her without hesitation, Kei’s original plan might have succeeded. But Sakamoto was stubborn fool and refused because he still saw Rion as a friend. In reality, she was using Sakamoto by grabbing his attention through Kei's action so she could return Kei to the real Rion. Also Kei is aware of Rion Uzuki's motives because they share the same goal and thought processes within his mindspace and both already conspired together from the beginning X Organization rose and created. This understanding is why Kei urged Sakamoto that the only option is to kill him directly and to not hesitate to go all out. Kei knows about Rion Uzuki's actions, including the million-yen bounty she placed on Sakamoto, which threatened him and his family and ultimately forced them to confront these issues after a period of stagnation. After that, Takamura entered the field under Asaki’s command to eliminate all assassins who interfered with the museum visit. Kei, Haruma, and Gaku realized that they could not continue their plan while Takamura was alive and stands in their way. Haruma clearly stated that they needed to kill him at any cost. I believe that although the AL Kamar members were trained killers and they have killed many assassins already as part of the major attack underground, they had never experienced real battle. This was their first true fight. Once they entered it, they felt the reality and intensity of combat, and they chose to continue. Kei worried about their safety, but Haruma and Gaku believed that they needed to act. They could not let their decade plans remain only as wishes and determined to fully accomplish it to fruitition as Kei and his friends are birds of the same feather and whatever is paining and burdening Kei should be shared with his friends so they could share the pain and burden together so Kei won't suffer alone and that's the real meaning of best friendship that formed since their orphanage days from childhood living through thick and thin in the hell together. The three of them formed a strategy to reduce Takamura’s awareness and attack him by silent surprise while protecting Kei. However, Takamura still overwhelmed them, resulting in Haruma and Gaku’s defeat. Watching this reminded Kei of how Rion had died protecting him. This intensified his feelings of sadness, loneliness, sorrow, grief, and anger, particularly as he recalled how the JAA through Asaki (the former JAA Chairman) and The Order, had manipulated, controlled, and deceived both Kei and Rion without their knowing. This manipulation of the corrupted higher ups ultimately led to their painful loss and tragedy, leaving Kei and Rion unprepared for the tragic accident that they weren't ready to face head-on. From this heartbreaking trauma, a dormant figure shaped by Kei's childhood suffering (during orphanage days from Asaki's special training towards him) emerged to his surface. He began copying Takamura’s movements and eventually became Takamura himself. Previously, in his mental space, Kei spoke with the Rion persona about completing his plan. This implied that once the war ended, Kei would disappear and sacrifice himself. At that point, the Rion persona would finally be free. Kei could not let go of Rion (persona) he created because it's existence reminds him of real Rion Akao whom he loved and had deep connections with in his heart and she was his reason to keep moving forward despite the pain. His depression was visible even physically, as his body became exhausted and heavy. Everything he did was for her. His healing would only come through death, when he could reunite with the real Rion after he maximized his absolute and full potential (against Sakamoto). The Rion persona also sought freedom, which could only happen if both of them died together. Studies show that depressed people had physical signs of exhaustion and their body feels more heavy. Because of this, Kei gathered the strongest assassins during the New Order meeting, including his orphanage friends Gozu and Kumanomi. He also recruited members of the former Order such as Oki, Kanaguri, Shishiba, Osaragi, Torres, and Tanabata. This was where his plan began to fail. I understand why he did this, because he needed manpower and strength to fulfill Rion’s vision. However, involving the former Order was dangerous. Many of them were arrogant and focused only on missions and profit. They could easily use Kei’s strength for their own corrupted and personal gain or betray and kill him. The more Kei killed, the more demand and opportunities would be created for them requested by different political parties. Basically, they are using Kei and keeping him in his position as JAA Chairman so that his overwhelming skill like of a weapon—something far beyond that of a normal assassin—can be exploited for corrupt purposes. His strength becomes a tool, and his reputation and face value are used to justify their evil system. This clearly goes against his true character and the ideals he has been fighting for. The worst part is that Kei does not even realize he is being taken advantage of. While he believes he is moving closer to his goal, he is actually being used from both the front and behind the scenes ever since the former Order members were recruited. In the end, he is treated less as a leader and more as a weapon, while others benefit from his actions without him knowing. This goes against Kei’s values. The Rion persona may have tried to stop him because she understood the danger. However, Kei had already run out of options. He was burdened and pressured as the leader of the X Organization while his family was falling apart. Gaku and Tenkyu were severely wounded, Kumanomi had collapsed, and Uda and Haruma were already dead. Only Kei and Gozu remained. Under this pressure, he believed that gathering strength in numbers was necessary to eliminate Sakamoto and complete his goal. I completely understand Kei's struggle. He did his best as a leader, embodying the qualities of a good leader from the best of his abilities and capabilities and I have nothing to say to that. It's astounding for me. However, his kindness sometimes allows people outside his inner circle to take advantage of him for example the recruitment of former Order members, which is where he made his biggest mistake. The Rion persona was likely warning Kei about it for his own safety. Sometimes strength in numbers is not necessary when the individuals involved such as AL Kamar family already possess overwhelming power. The AL Kamar members were trained from childhood as a weapons without emotions and could potentially destroy everything on their path, including purging of Japan country and its evil society as absolute necessary. Instead of relying on outsiders, they should have relied more on their own skills and unity as a strong family with whatever they have left. Kei’s burden is heavy, but he continues to act because he does not want Rion’s wish to remain only a wish and cannot prolong it any longer. He wants it to become a reality. Even if he does not live to see that future, he is willing to sacrifice himself. Kei's life is a payment for the new world he wants to create in Rion's name. In that future, assassins and JAA (HQ) will no longer exist, the voiceless and weak from the dark will be brought into the light, and the remaining kind and deserving people will finally live in peace, goodness, and equality. That is the world he wants to leave behind, and he believes that his successor, Gaku, will carry that vision forward until it is complete.
