カラジャ人は「メクラヘビの腹」、タピラペ人は「祈るかまきり」と呼んでいるそう。カマキリは虫の中で1番好き。確か西洋では、道に迷った時に導いてくれる縁起のいい虫みたいな話があったはず。

カラジャ人のあやとりにハマり中。メクラヘビは地中でシロアリなどを食べるミミズのように小さなヘビらしい。目が小さく小さく鱗の下に隠れてる、と。かわいい。

カラジャ、と検索してみるとユニークな動物の人形がたくさん出てくる。彼らに興味が湧いてきたけど、日本語だと情報が少ないからまたゆっくり調べよう。このコウモリの群れ、最後はみんな飛び立っていくのが面白い。

これは数年前あやとりを再開しだしたばかりの頃に覚えたやつで、複雑な取り方に苦労した。ほぼ徹夜で動画を繰り返し観て。苦労した分、手が覚えていて暫く作らなくても忘れない。簡単にできると逆に手順を忘れる。

私はナウルの取り方で作ってるんだけど、この形はあちこちで見られている。太平洋の島々やインド、ペルーにブラジル、ギリシャ。ギリシャのものは記録されているものとしては最古のあやとりで、BC100頃の医師ヘラクレスのエッセイに登場する。あごの治療に使われていたらしい。
