As leader of NZ First, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, do you stand by this statement by Ms Carolyn Schwalger on behalf New Zealand (allegedly), that NZ is right behind the Pact?
Somehow the UN, including NZ, adopted the "Pact for the Future" without even a vote on it. How is that?
The speech implies that NZ has been intimately involved in the leadership of this pact. Please explain that.
In your previous correspondence on this matter, you did not explain how it is possible to have a "consensus" without even a vote. Further, you indicated that it did not commit NZ to an action pathway, despite the "Pact for the Future" sounding very much like a commitment. How do you explain this tension? Surely "pact" implies collective commitment?
You need to explain NZ's involvement in this process, and when NZ officers/Ministers "agreed" to the "Pact for the Future" without consulting NZ citizens on these matters.
Was this "agreement" a decision of Cabinet, a decision of yourself, or someone else? Please explain the authorisation process for NZ to make a significant "apparent" commitment to a "Pact" without consultation, and without providing any evidence of either consultation or approval/assent processes.
