I gave @sundaebar_ai quite a lot of stick when they first launched their subnet, as did quite a few people over a few things. Their CEO @jill_kenney reached out to me and I caught up with her last week.
I liked what she had to say, and thought i'd share a few things that I learned from our conversation. It's clear that they are very green to the eco, and still learning, but critically they WANT to learn and to make their subnet infra a success.
- They're a real business that raised fiat capital from investors, and they oversubscribed on their round. So they have real runway outside of their subnet owner share.
- Their oversubscription they put into a BTC treasury. Important to note that they don't have a strategy to extract TAO to put into this treasury, they are separate things.
- They're building an agent marketplace for real world users. The subnet will be a talent conduit to create quality agents that can be sold to real people
- They intend on being cash flow positive for the subnet (i.e they will want to make sure their costs are covered for their subnet health)
- They're currently building out a number pieces of tech concurrently - the subnet miner/vali mechanism and the consumer marketplace (i.e income gateway)
- They are aiming at launching this sept/oct time which in my view is not too long before some kind of business revenue could feasibly happen
- Interesting fact - they became aware of Bittensor due to the awareness driven by Barry Silbert, which is an interesting reminder how critical figures like this are for any eco in bringing in builders
Personally I think a subnet price of 0.002 with near 400% APY is a great RR. Yes I bought some.
