Well, I have a good memory, and I have been a fan of Elotes Doro since it opened. I keep receipts. Doro/Dororong was fan creation, and it had gained fame and popularity on a global scale with most people who know of Doro not even aware that it is based off the character Dorothy. Elotes Doro, was created and opened September 2024. ShiftUp formally negotiated the purchase of the IP of Doro/Dororong on August 2025. Elotes Doro existed a YEAR before ShiftUP even owned the full rights of Doro. Elotes Doro continued to operate a YEAR after they got the Copyright. ShiftUp for over TWO YEARS didn't care about Elotes Doro, but strangely when some Sony Exec took a ShiftUP position, a position that specialises in "Global Communication"...Elotes Doro got forced to change everything by ShiftUP. You want to talk legality and how ShiftUP has the right to threaten Elotes Doro to chance their branding, sure its their legal right. But in terms of fandom and community goodwill, something that ShiftUP NEEDS... What Jerome Benzadon did on behalf of ShiftUP - is scummy and trash. Throw a little money, hire a few lawyers, bully a random small business in Mexico selling snacks to change the entire identity of their business for TWO YEARS. What GREAT work you are doing Jerome, if being Head of Global Communications involves alienating your employer's fanbase and destroying goodwill.
