#PostOfficeScandal rumbles on with revelations in the hallowed portals of #DBT #BEIS #UKGI as many apparently unminuted meetings on that crucial #SwiftReview were held long after the scandal broke! Why would that be? Surely none in the civil service were trying to conceal? In 2020!
1/5 DBT concedes it possesses no minutes of multiple meetings of 2020 held to discuss the Swift Review, despite at least one meeting having been attended by UKGI‘s CE, its Vice Chair & General Council, the BEIS Permanent Secretary & its Post Office Board representative:

#Corruption news. LPP is subject to a public interest test. It's also clear that @ICOnews should consider this & review material requested linked to the #PostOfficeScandal. So it's a surprise that the ICO upheld a S42 decision in respect of S42 #SwiftReview in June last year
#Corruption news. Another parallel with Gov hand in cover ups. #ProjectSparrow & #SwiftReview were aimed at burying #PostOfficeScandal. To a point that lawyers got involved & when people asked under FOIA it was refused under S42 & upheld by ICO https://t.co/4OCo5U6sQU

A big recommendation for all of you who are learning to code in Swift: @twostraws's app UNWRAP (https://t.co/Vu9LDeBqSt). So easy to use and so much content for us to go over and improve our Swift knowledge. #100DaysOfSwiftUI #Day15 #SwiftReview

@TransparencyTF @TheFCA Big concern is the injustice suffered by those included in the corrupt #IRHPReview whose mistreatment seems to have been ignored by #SwiftReview. The whole Review needs to be the subject of a judicial enquiry as does the behaviour of the #Banks, #HMTreasury #FCA throughout.

...If we’re right that the reaction is defensive, do you have any thoughts about why that might be the case?

The #SwiftReview found "Osborne, the chancellor at the time, and Javid, who was financial secretary to the Treasury, lobbied the FSA to ease the cost to banks, which were under pressure after the financial crisis – despite the objections of FSA officials." https://t.co/g85chMDu6Q
. @kevinhollinrake: it’s “staggering” the FCA is still refusing to accept the #SwiftReview's key finding on 10,000 firms being hung out to dry, following pressure from Osborne and Javid. “We need a full account of on what basis these victims were excluded” https://t.co/3B10WnRZJu
Who needs thrillers… Good insight & overview from @Ian_Fraser on #SwiftReview re IHRP w/George Osborne & Javid as protagonists, ia giving in to the banking lobby. Essential thread below.
Key take-outs: (a) Treasury more interested in “circling the wagons” around UK banks than ensuring their victims are fairly compensated. (b) Treasury lied about its intervention, which followed lobbying from banks, for 8 years. (c) FCA could have resisted, but didn’t #SwiftReview

Reading Swift review.
Smoking gun — it was former chancellor George Osborne who insisted on moving the goalposts of the FCA's redress scheme, ensuring that ⅓ of eligible firms (to which banks had missold IRHPs crippling their businesses) were excluded and denied compensation

In #SwiftReview, Sir John Swift suggests @TheFCA might wish to avoid rolling over to requests from @hmtreasury (for example to water down compensation schemes in ways that save banks billions but are detrimental to consumer interest) in future https://t.co/QL8DmarnMg

In #SwiftReview, John Swift QC says @TheFCA should consider including “post-termination cooperation obligations” in the employment contracts of senior FCA staff.
He was unable to interview Martin Wheatley, who presided over the FCA when the inadequate IRHP scheme was in place

As John Swift QC makes clear in #SwiftReview, the @TheFCA’s predecessor the FSA, led by John Tiner and Hector Sants, should never have let banks get away with mis-selling IRHPs on a systematic/industrial scale to SMEs in the first place https://t.co/QL8DmarnMg

As financial secretary to the Treasury, Sajid Javid was also piling on the pressure on the FSA to draw arbitrary eligibility lines in order to exclude so-called “sophisticated” SMEs from the chance of securing compensation from banks that had mis-sold them IRHPs. #SwiftReview

@GouldsBlog @LloydsBank @SMEAllianceLtd @Spandavia I suspect they had to race to give him his knighthood before #dobbssreview and #swiftreview are released.
