Building on the success of the #dieselelectric 18.5 t class R2900 XE, @CaterpillarInc is soon to take things to another level with the 22 t class R3200 - also using a diesel-electric #SwitchedReluctance drive but this time with a larger C18 engine. Cat says the new & refined machine offers improved acceleration, speed on grade and fuel efficiency plus lower maintenance costs; and it is a three pass match with the AD63 https://t.co/yPRf46I6hQ

Hybrid Electric Drive, specifically Switched Reluctance (SR) technology, is generating a lot of buzz...But @KomatsuMining’s history with the technology goes back much further than that. https://t.co/eoycW0P4xe #CIMBC18 #SwitchedReluctance
