Brig. General Sanoun headed the operations of the 22nd Air Division from 2012–2020 - meaning he oversaw aerial bombardment during *all* the years #SyAF bombed areas outside Assad's control.
The operations he supervised covered key Airbases in 2 provinces: Hama, Tiyas & Shayrat (Homs countryside).
This month, the Interior Ministry stepped up arrests of key former Regime figures involved in war crimes - he's the 15th Pilot arrested during this surge.
تمكنت قوى الأمن الداخلي عبر عملية أمنية نوعية ومحكمة، من إلقاء القبض على المدعو زكريا محمد سنون، الذي حمل رتبة عميد ركن طيار خلال عهد النظام البائد، وشغل موقع رئيس فرع العمليات في الفرقة 22 خلال الفترة الممتدة من عام 2012 حتى عام 2020، وهي الفرقة المشرفة على العمليات الجوية لثلاثة مطارات عسكرية.
ويُعدّ المقبوض عليه أحد أبرز المتورطين في التخطيط والتنفيذ لجرائم الحرب والاعتداءات الجوية ضد المدنيين خلال سنوات الثورة السورية، إذ تولى الإشراف المباشر على العمليات في ثلاثة مطارات رئيسية، وهي: مطار حماة العسكري، ومطار التيفور (T4)، ومطار الشعيرات.
وقد أحيل المقبوض عليه إلى الجهات المختصة لاستكمال التحقيقات تمهيداً لمثوله أمام القضاء المختص ونيله جزاءه العادل.

What Regime didn't count on, however, was that a #SyAF helicopter barrel-bombing the water facility was caught live on camera.

To date there's no Russian withdrawal from #Syria, contrarily to some reports. RuAF activity is the same as before, as spotted by Rebel observatories, & Russian troops are also present in all areas they were deployed before.

His name was found in the documents published by @zamanalwsl and his family informed of his fate 12 years after his enforced disappearance.
He was executed in Saydnaya.
#Syria: 13 years ago today, Rebels shot down one of the very first #SyAF helicopters (a Mi-8 gunship).
Hit over the E. #Ghouta, it crashed in Qabun district.
The 4 crew members died, including the 2 pilots (Colonels).

He operated the OSA - the most sophisticated Air defense system Rebels ever captured - after the codes were cracked and shot down #SyAF helicopter(s).
He narrowly escaped death during the Russian airstrike which killed Jaish Islam's leader (Zahran Alloush) on 25th December 2015.
He's now part of the new Syrian Air force and is the first to operate ... an Il-76.
