Until I had a visually impaired daughter, I have to admit that I wasn’t really aware of the different types of canes. #SymbolCane #WhiteCaneAwarenessDay #WhiteCaneDay #WhiteCaneSafetyDay

@emilylinka 100% about a year ago I decided to start using a #guidecane. It was someone in the #nhs who suggested it. I changed from a #symbolcane. It has made a big difference. Never feel bad for making your life easier. Go have fun!

Today is #WhiteCaneAwarenessDay! Although Abbie doesn't use a white cane, she does have a #symbolcane (a shorter version that symbolises to the public the user has some degree of #visionloss). We practice with her #symbolcane in busy places 1/3

General public: pleas be aware of those around you. Don’t just push past a #partiallysighted person using a #symbolcane at the ticket barriers & say ‘excuse me sorry.’ It’s ignorant. It’s rude & it’s inconsiderate. #leeds #trainstation @RNIB
