8. On some days in May and June, or in Christmas, you may come across a strangely dressed groups of people moving in an erratic and bizarre way. They are not having a seizure. Locals refer to them as "Morris Dancers". Just walk on politely and avoid eye contact #SyriaInUK

2. Forget everything you learned at Wednesday afternoon Introduction to English classes at the British Council in Damascus. Modern English is defined by contracting words, "innit" for "isn't it", or "wa'er". A simple "Ta" will suffice when you wish to thank someone #SyriaInUK

1. Nobody watches Mr Bean anymore. British comedy has moved on quite a bit since. Beginners can start with The Fast Show, and progress to Little Britain. Syrians with advanced British Humour skills can attempt The League of Gentlemen or Garth Marenghi's Darkplace #SyriaInUK
