Yea this is something i have been saying for years. the visibility is sooo bad that iOS rootkits don’t need to hide. this is why a simple tool like #syssecinfo would have been able to uncover a lot of infected devices until they added counter code.

Remember when Apple banned #SysSecInfo? If they had let it be in the store such incidents could have been uncovered maybe years ago. Yeah maybe the player would have adapted but one wave of already installed 0-days would have been found 🤷🏼♂️

Today is a good day to remind people how hard @Apple fought my software #SysSecInfo that tried to give people some inspectability on iPhones. (And yes I know that #NSO sells modules for PEGASUS to hide from #SysSecInfo)
Three years later people are still getting #syssecinfo (somehow) and contact @sektioneins because it shows they have a jailbreak (because Apple made updating the app impossible) - shows how big of a topic this is for users

BTW for a fair comparison #SysSecInfo #pegasus detection would have to be tested in iOS 9.3.2 (after that Apple broke parts of our app)
@awesome_king512 there is nothing to help: apple (intentionally) broke some features of #syssecinfo and does not allow us to fix them
Isn't it ironic that #pegasus could have been detected months ago already if Apple had not banned #syssecinfo
There are a number of people asking us if #SysSecInfo can detect Pegasus. We do not know because we do not have the sample.

Big question: did Nobody try to use #SysSecInfo on that dissidents phone or was that info redacted due to Lookout/Apple request?
