Who knows the beautiful novel "Cuore" by Edmondo De Amicis? It's a children's novel first published in its entirety in 1886. This beautiful, short work by #Carrara refers to the episode (let's call it that) of November: "La piccola vedetta lombarda”, precisely. Carrara wrote(1/4)

Listening to #Sgambati's "Melodie de Gluck" for piano is well worth purchasing this #Tactus CD. The rest of the program is an added bonus: pieces for oboe & piano or solo piano by #Sinigaglia, #Bolzoni, #Gariboldi (his "Mosaico su motivi de La Traviata" is a truly remarkable(1/3)

This was his limitations, I don't follow his Theory #Tactus. Tacitus himself admits that he had to rely on hearsay and gossip for parts of his history, particularly in "The Annals" where he discusses events from a period where records were scarce or lost. This reliance on potentially unreliable sources can skew the historical accuracy of his accounts.

Burney judged #Paradisi to be a great master of the harpsichord. This double CD #Tactus presents his 12 sonatas which are really well performed by Marco Molaschi. If Domenico Scarlatti is the greatest for this type of work, Paradisi I think he can be among the most deserving(1/2)

Paolo #Quagliati (one of the few composers with a surname starting with the letter Q) was born in Chioggia and died in Rome. This interesting #Tactus CD features 20 pieces played on organ & on harpsichord. Many organ pieces are characterized by delightful sustained notes (1/2)

#Tactus presents another set of little-known gems: the wind music of #Salieri. Three Serenades, three Trios, a Quintet and a Cassation. The album opens with Parade Marsch in C major. The music is always elegant and of exquisite melodic invention. ❤️ The composer from Legnago(1/2)
