@moiz_hafiz @ACCinTouch @KendraGrubb @SCAI Heart Team needs to have thorough discussion re lifetime management for each individual patient and choose the right valve the first time, even if it means a sternotomy! #TAVRvsSAVR

@drdevireddy @gbm4byu @TAVRBot @cnni @EmoryMedicine @SCAI Poll 1: At age 75 and in good health, Mick Jagger seems to be a low risk patient for AVR. Based on the results of #TAVR low risk trials presented at #ACC19, which would you recommend for the rock star? #CardioTwitter #TAVRvsSAVR

@LizPerpetua @CMSGov @ajaykirtane So the question becomes, what about the patient that is referred to a cardiac surgeon at a hospital that doesn't have #TAVR? #NCD #TAVRvsSAVR #InformedConsent

Updated #NCD draft released today. 2 surgeon consult dropped to 1. Should @CMSGov incorporate the results of @ajaykirtane poll to make it requirement that patients going for SAVR should be assessed for TAVR before surgery? #TAVRvsSAVR #InformedConsent

@AlexBresciaMD Great to see that only one cardiac surgeon consult needed prior to #TAVR. How about making it mandatory for one interventional cardiology consult before patient is sent for #SAVR? Both options #TAVRvsSAVR should be discussed for fully #InformedConsent #NCD

@DrAsifQasim @ajaykirtane @CMSGov I tell them upfront that #TAVR long term durability is still unknown. Most patients still choose TAVR over SAVR but this highlights importance of shared decision making #TAVRvsSAVR #ACC19

@ajaykirtane @CMSGov Unless Option of #TAVR is discussed with the patient, he or she is NOT making a fully informed consent #TAVRvsSAVR #ACC19
