.@EducatorsRoom @educatorbarnes I had a student with the last name Beer one time & first initial P--he didn't consider initial #socialmedia ID choices--after all it was his name. We discussed in class & he used class as focus group to find educator-worthy version. #ter18

.@EducatorsRoom @educatorbarnes Another easy win for men--who in Western cultures rarely change their name when married--easy to keep that #digitalfootprint . Women tougher--either when marry or get divorced, etc. #socialmedia #ter18

Lol. @educatorbarnes @educatorsroom I said earlier this year--I think my regular Twitter followers know more about me than my colleagues. #ter18

@educatorbarnes @EducatorsRoom Helps that I've been professionally active on most platforms before my employer/colleagues in many instances so when personal/professional vs institutional accounts #ter18

@educatorbarnes @EducatorsRoom This is why I counsel my #edtech students & #preservice #teachers to have accounts of their own--to be professionally portable. #ter18

@educatorbarnes @EducatorsRoom #socialmedia environment rife with #trolls but worse if you can ID one as a colleague! So far a non-issue--would like to keep it that way. #ter18

I wouldn't consider that awkward--esp. if you're posting good stuff. That's good #socialmedia cred IMO #ter18

@EducatorsRoom A1. Yes-but depends on which account. My twitter account--professional so yes--pretty much anyone. My FB personal- so not really many in that circle. Maybe 1-2 folks. #ter18
