@dontarrestme They contracted to grow artificially low THC plants. No excuse. Many didn't profit, either. The GMO #THCnull cultivars that have been developed have proven totally susceptible to grass hoppers in trials against any others with even 0.3% THC. They'll replace THC with pesticides.

@marijuanacomau I'm familiar with the concept. A former employee did the same with lettuce and jellyfish if I recall. An easy visual indicator for any trait. It is neat. The #THCnull postulated about at the end has been out for a few years now. The plants are defenseless against grasshoppers.

@CanEhDiana42 That's been around a few years already. Check out #Tfree or #THCnull hemp cultivars. The plasmid responsible for THC synthase has been edited out. Not pretty. Another GMO plant has terp production blocked through gene editing. Infertility may be achieved w/out molecular mods.

@marijuanacomau There's been a few, including #THCnull edits in US hemp, (which suffer from pests worse than those with only 0.2%). Plus high CBG edits by editing out the pathways to other cannabinoids.

I've heard a number of hemp farmers this season realize that gene-edited #THCnull lines are much more susceptible to pests, such as grasshoppers that are devasting those crop blocks. THC is a #phytoalexin that helps protect the plant from predators. Max 0.3%? Should be min 3%!
