Last night, we (#TheLad & I) watched “Joker” on TV. Switched it off when he began crying at the scene where the abuse Arthur experienced was detailed. I asked why he was crying. “Because it makes me think of what Dad did to me.” Then I cried.

@Ryan_Daigler Yep. Exactly this by #TheLad’s biological father to him. Ten years of it, a decade of gaslighting, abuse, lies with Social Services believing the bio father, not the mother, not me, & least of all the child. Almost at an end, but we’re far, far from over it, if ever we will be.

Instructing #TheLad in the art of using tinned foods to make a good meal. This sauce is Mutti pizza sauce. Cooked chicken breast on a bed of arugula & basil, then sauce, then more basil, then mozzarella. The “after” to come. NB Only two dining as the #Memsahib is away for work.

Just shown #TheLad how to top up coolant. Made all the more interesting & useful as the coolant was concentrated, so we had also to buy de-ionised water & he had to do the measuring & mixing, as well as pouring.

Also had a #FathersDay card from #NextDoorsCat. Low-alcohol beer as chosen by #TheLad so we can share a drink later. I am blessed (but not sure that the Cat really chose the card, wrote in it, & pulled it through the cat flap…).
