The plant is the sole worldwide source of empennages (tail assemblies) for the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.

U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor visited Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited #TLMAL in Hyderabad today, touring the production line for C-130J Super Hercules empennages.
The Tata–Lockheed Martin partnership dates to 2010, when TLMAL was established in Hyderabad. India received its first C-130J in 2011, and the Indian Air Force now operates 12 C-130Js. TLMAL has become the single global source for C-130J empennage assemblies fitted to new aircraft produced in the U.S.; the company reached its 250th C-130J tail milestone in 2025.
U.S. Navy’s testing of the AIM-424 LRAAM “MALICE,” reportedly with a range exceeding 290 miles (465 km), and the U.S.-Australian MH-60 Sea Hawk modernization effort focused on open-system avionics and mission architecture. India operates the MH-60R with the Indian Navy.
In India, the Indian Navy received ‘Mangrol,’ its third Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, on August 21, with more than 80% indigenous content. India has also announced approximately $368 million in GRSE and Yantra India expansion projects covering shipbuilding, forging and production capacity.
